Physical Therapy

Physical therapy, also known as Physiotherapy in many English speaking countries, is a health care profession which provides services to individuals and populations to develop, maintain and restore maximum movement and functional ability throughout the lifespan. This includes providing services in circumstances where movement and function are threatened by aging, injury, disease or environmental factors. Functional movement is central to what it means to be healthy.

Physical therapy is concerned with identifying and maximizing quality of life and movement potential within the spheres of promotion, prevention, treatment/intervention, habilitation and rehabilitation. This encompasses physical, psychological, emotional, and social well being. Physical therapy involves the interaction between physical therapist (PT), patients/clients, other health professionals, families, care givers, and communities in a process where movement potential is assessed and goals are agreed upon, using knowledge and skills unique to physical therapists. Physical therapy is performed by either a physical therapist (PT) or an assistant (PTA) acting under their direction.

Physical Therapy is offered at the following locations:

FAQ's

We treat all types of orthopaedic and neuromuscular diagnoses and conditions including injuries of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine, pelvic and sacral region, TMJ, injuries of the upper extremity (shoulder, elbow, forearm, wrist, hand/fingers), injuries of the lower extremity (hip/thigh, knee/shin, ankle/foot/toes), balance/gait deficits, hemiplegia related to CVA/TIA or brain injury.  Whether your injury is acute, chronic, due to overuse, due to an accident, or post-surgical, we can help you.

Anyone who feels limited or has deficits with activities of daily living (ADLs), work duties, exercise/recreational or sports activities can benefit from our services.

Therapy at our clinic involves a personalized approach to help you achieve your specific goals.  A typical session includes skilled, hands-on treatment by a licensed therapist to address limitations in flexibility and mobility of soft tissue and joints.  Specific exercises are then performed to improve posture, functional strength/stability, coordination/balance, and endurance.  Modalities including ultrasound, electrical stimulation, cold/heat packs, cryotherapy are also utilized to help manage symptoms.

Most therapy services are covered by insurance and we accept a wide array of insurance plans.  Your out of pocket expense including deductibles and co-insurance/co-pays will vary depending on your current insurance plan.  Our team can help determine these costs for you and answer any questions you have regarding your coverage.
