ProActive PT would like to give a big congratulations to Xander Schauffele for his win at The Greenbrier and for his fifth-place tie at the US Open. Our resident golf expert and Titleist Performance Institute certified Physical Therapist Alberto Pesqueira, met Xander at Bernardo Heights Country Club eight years ago. The two started working together three years ago when Xander was a student-athlete at San Diego State University. Alberto’s work with Xander focuses on maintaining good alignment, soft tissue mobility, and recovery when in season. In the off season, they work on improving strength, speed, and power. When Xander is home for a week or two, they try to work in two to three sessions which include both body prep and training.

We are proud to announce that for the fourth year in a row, Proactive Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine will be participating in collecting toys for Energy 103.7’s AJ’s Kids Crane benefiting Rady’s Children’s Hospital.  Because of the generosity of our patients and staff, last year Proactive Physical Therapy donated over five storage bins full of toys, making our decision to participate again easy.

If you would like to donate a toy, please be sure to stop by any one of our clinics.  Because the toys will be going to a sterile environment, unfortunately we cannot accept any stuffed animals or used toys.”

In this day and age, it can be argued that great customer service is often one of the most important traits that a business can encompass.  The Internet has procured the ultimate “informed user,” through such websites as Yelp, WebMD, and Facebook to name a few.  In just minutes, individuals can find Mission Statements, reviews, and information on specific businesses, specialists, injuries, and recoveries.  Not only is there an overabundance of information available, there is also the opportunity to be able to choose who and what services you would like. In the physical therapy world, it is the right of the patient to be able to choose which facility they want to go to, whether they have a prescription or not (Direct Access). It is these “informed users” that have made customer service such an integral part of a business, transforming the old adage “the customer is always right” to “the customer must receive the best we can give them and more.”
