It’s that time of year again, after college bowl games when the top college players are getting prepared to perform at the NFL Combine. Every January here at ProActive Physical Therapy we support Activ8 Athleticism in getting players in top form for their big day. They arrive from all over the country and live here to train and rehab for 8 weeks or more.
On their first day here each player is screened by our director of physical therapy, and any injury is thoroughly evaluated. We then set a treatment plan, discuss it confidentially with each player, educate them on their injury, what they need to do to help the rehab process, and conference with Activ8. We then use a variety of the latest rehab techniques each day before their training sessions to help recover from injury during the season, including ART, Graston technique, Kinesio Taping, dynamic stretching, and eccentric strengthening to name a few.
After their training session, they return for state of the art modalities for recovery and prep for training the next day. We work diligently with each player to help them heal, return their injured body part to normal function, and help them perform at their highest level while they strive to achieve their dreams. Now, are you thinking “I want to be treated like an elite athlete” Well, here at ProActive Physical Therapy this is how we treat all of our clients. We give the same attention, use the same techniques, and strive to help all of our clients return to their highest level. And this time of year, it is fun for our clients to sit next to an elite college football player and “talk shop”.
